Allan “Biggie” Northway

Allan Paul Northway, or “Biggie” as he was known to his male friends, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 29th at the age of either 69 or 86. There's is no record of his birth available and family members dispute his actual age. The various documents in his wallet salvaged from the tragic canoe fire that took his life showed two different birth dates: August 27, 1925 and June 27, 1937.

Biggie was an active member in the community and enjoyed gardening, bowling and something called tree-scraping. We're not clear what tree-scraping entails, but neighbours say there's no bark on any of the trees in Biggie's 1st Street property.

“They're all alive and doing well,” said Bucky Daniels, a next door neighbour, “But they ain't got no bark on them. He took it all off in his last years. Wanted to take off the bark off my trees but I told I'd get my gun and shoot him if he tried.”

Biggie leaves behind an adult son and daughter, another son with an unknown woman from Parkville, and sixteen to eighteen cats who have all been set free by the family.

His funeral will be announced in the News within a day or two. It's not known weather he'll be cremated or buried. “He's already been cremated far as I'm concerned,” said Bucky. “That ain't right. He should have waited until he was dead.”
